The BOG team grabs their gear and heads west to chase New Mexico elk hunt with Colorado Buck and Pack N’ Horns Outfitters. With the rut winding down and adverse weather conditions, Tim and Jason hike through the New Mexico Mountains in search of their very first bull elk. Meanwhile, Matt finds himself in the middle of some intense late rut activity, and leaves New Mexico with a giant bull.

With a seemingly endless population of huge elk and a vast expanse of hills and valleys, New Mexico remains one of the premier elk hunt destinations in the country for firearm and bow hunters alike and is a favorite for the members of Team BOG. The free range ranch the BOG crew hunted on was located close to Cimmaron, NM, and sits in the middle of some of the most well-known elk hunting ranches in North America. The location was perfect for this hunt, boasting excellent elk habitat complete with good cover and plenty of food and water. During a rut, the bulls push the cows down from the steeper terrain into the flat brushlands and enabling hunters to find some great horns in the hills.

The 2018 elk hunt found Team BOG hunting with legendary Colorado Buck and Pack N Horns Outfitters. Colorado Buck, of course, being most recognizable from television series "Where in the World is Colorado Buck?" helped team BOG navigate the expanse of this exclusive ranch in New Mexico.
